A pair of twins were reunited after more than 70 years after being separated at birth.
Ann Hunt and Elizabeth Hamel, were separated because their mother could not afford to keep them both.
Ann was given up for adoption with no knowledge of her twin sister until last year.
In attempt to discover her, now 78 year old, mother’s family connection, Ann’s daughter decided to write to Elizabeth.
Elizabeth was shocked and overjoyed to receive the letter regarding her sister and instantly got in contact with Ann.
Ann was delighted to discover that she had a sister and the two finally met on the 1st of May this year.
The reunion was a joyful and tearful one for both women and they are now catching up on lost time getting to know each other.
The sisters have agreed to take part in a study around twins raised apart.
