A seagull turned bright orange after falling into a vat of curry.

The bird fell into a container of chicken tikka masala while trying to scavenge a piece of meat from a food factory bin.

He was rescued by workers at the factory in south east Wales and picked up by a volunteer for Vale Wildlife Hospital.

Staff at the centre used washing up liquid to clean the gull’s feathers.

They managed to return him back to his original white colour but have not been able to wash away the smell.

  1. Very, very funny! You should have used tomato paste to wash away the smell. This reminds me of when my dog got sprayed by a skunk and stunk for ages! What a hilarious article and image!! We had fun reading this in Room 8 🙂

  2. I feel sad for the gull cause some currys are spicy and hot and can sting your eyes 🙁 but good thing they got the color of 🙂

  5. This article makes you wonder what on earth they put in those currys, and why! some foods advertise that they have “No added Colors” and that bird may now live a life of solitude from its smell But thank goodness for those workers rescuing him!

  6. *And today on National Geographic, our team has discovered the infamous Curry-gull lurking in a food factory bin. We have looked into the DNA of this mysterious bird. But our scientists here at NG have no discovered anything mysterious about this species of rare bird. So it is still a mystery to why Curry-gulls are orange.
