Scooby-Doo creator passes away

Joe Ruby, the co-creator of iconic cartoon series Scooby-Doo, has died aged 87.

Ruby died of natural causes at his home in California last Thursday.

Ruby co-created the long-running cartoon series with his creative partner Ken Spears.

What is Scooby-Doo?

Scooby-Doo is an American animated television series produced from 1969 to the present.

The original series, was called Scooby Doo Where Are You!

In 2013, TV Guide ranked Scooby-Doo the fifth greatest TV cartoon of all time.
