Researchers in Istanbul have developed a pair of glow in the dark rabbits.

Turkish scientists injected flourescent protein from jellyfish DNA into a mother rabbit’s embryo in a lab.

The embryo was then put back in the mummy rabbit and when the litter of eight bunnies were born two glowed a vivid green under black light.

The Turkish researchers are already looking ahead to welcome the birth of the country’s first glow in the dark sheep, expected in November.

    My argument

I argue is that this is messing with mother nature. God created the bunnies to be how they are not glow in the dark and think of the side effects it could have on nature 3 eyed fish elephants with 2 trunks maybe even a cyclops squirrel! I think that this is just STUPID this makes the bunnies easier to shoot in hunting season when it gets dark how would you like it if you were glow in the dark and bunnies shot at you?

  5. Erm…isn’t that cruel. And what the heck is the use of them? I like normaal bunnies thank you.

  6. Uh… What are these animals used for, anyway? A nightlight???? Also, how do the bunnies go to sleep when they glow??? Wouldn’t it be way to light??? I know I can’t get to sleep if it is to dark… And will other bunnies get jelous??? Will the glowing bunnies get bullied???

  7. other people may think this is cool but I’m against it, i find it quite cruel to the kits and their mother. I am a animal lover so you can’t really blame me for complaining about the treatment and the rabbits care, ALL animals deserve to be treated like us (humans) so next time this happens think whether you would want your kids to be treated this way, because the mother rabbit probably feels the same way..

  8. wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that is pretty amazing… good old ‘turks’!
    lol
but i think it might be a little bit cruel……..
    i still want one!
    🙂

  9. I can see why some people think its cool but i dissagree!
Whats the point in glow in the dark animals it will just make the animals life harder and im sure a lot of bunny died in these tests. This is not good.

  10. ummmm isnt that cruel??? baby bunnies need to be and STAY their natural colours not being turned glow in the dark >:(

  11. umm isnt that cruel??? baby bunnies should not be coloured glow in the dark, they need to saty their NATURAL colours. and the mummy rabbit shouldnt be put through that gruesome sort of thing… gettint their embryo being injected with jellyfish DNA and then they are doing that to sheep aswell!!! what is this world coming to these days:(

  12. Noooooooooooooo not good.bad scientists messing with nature.it is a very bad thing to do .If you mess with nature life could go out of balance.rabbits could become extinct .bunny rabbits are who they are.

  13. yes its cruel but I can see where the scientests and coming from glow in the dark bunnys pretty cool rigtht but I guess they didnt the about things like poisining HA

  14. that is so crull they should stop messing with natcher. It is so not natrall at all STOP THE CRUELTY !!!

  15. this is soooooo sad you know that it so why would you do it

    ITS SAD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. WHY DO YOU LIKE THIS IS SAD YOU CAN HAVE YOUR OPINION BUT IT IS NOT SAD SO WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT

  17. wait, doesn’t the fact that they glow in the dark means that get easily get found and eaten by a predator?

  18. what’s wrong with different colours?
now the mother can see two of the babys in the dark. harder to lose right?

  19. Im not sure why you guys are complaining THERE ARE GLOW IN THE DARK BUNNIES. I want one

  20. I totally agree with you Reuben because in room 12 we need to work against that. I think that it is really sad. Let nature do its thing and let the little baby rebbits be themselves! This is very cruel and sad in my opinion.

  21. if you mess with nature it will mess with you

  24. Wait, why do we need glow in the dark bunnies?

Although it is a big jump in science!!!

    😀

  25. that is just soooooooooooo mean too do that( it is actuly really sad if you even have a heart) 🙁 🙁 🙁

  26. AMAZING !!!!!!
BUT KIND OF CRUEL IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT.
BECAUSE IT WILL MAKE IT EASY FOR HUNTERS TO SHOOT THEM.
BUNNIES HAVE NEVER SHOT YOU HAVE THEY?

  27. I am half with this and half not, one side of me thinks it’s a really cool idea; and they should do that to a sheep! The other half thinks this is really cruel and if the released them into the wild, it will be easier for animals of prey to catch them.
