Rugby win T20 Black Clash

The Black Clash took place on the 22nd of January at Bay Oval. It is the annual game between past New Zealand cricketers and All Blacks.

Cricket won the toss and decided to have a bat. The wildcard and Olympic medallist Tom Walsh got Team Cricket of to a flyer hitting a quick 34 which included a six.

Watlings half-century of just 34 balls helped team cricket to get up to 203/5 of the 20 overs.

Former All Black captain Kieran Read and Will Jordan got team Rugby of to the perfect start with adding exactly 100 runs for the first wicket partnership.

Jordan unleashed against the spin of Nathan McCullum, and brought up a 27-ball half-century with four fours and three sixes.

However, with scores level, Read fell trying to hit the winning runs, as a top edged pull shot was caught by Fleming, out at 203/4.

But with one run needed from six balls, it was Barrett that sealed the win, stealing a single into the leg-side to complete a brilliant victory for Team Rugby.

The have tied the series 2-2 over the 4 games that have been played.
