US actor and comedian Robin Williams has passed away at the age of 63.
Williams was considered one of the world’s best stand-up comedians. However, he became known as a superb actor, winning the Oscar in 1998 for best supporting actor as a therapist in Good Will Hunting.
He also starred in films such as Dead Poets Society, Mrs Doubtfire and was the voice of the genie in Aladdin.
Williams was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1951. From an early age he enjoyed acting and drama.
He joined the drama club in high school and was accepted into Juilliard School in New York, the prestigious American academy for the arts.
Robin Williams was married to Susan Schneider and has three children.
