A red fleshed kiwifruit is being tested on New Zealanders.

Kiwifruit marketer and exporter Zespri will release 30,000 trays of Zespri Red to customers over the next 5 weeks.

The company said it wanted to know what consumers and retailers thought about the new kiwifruit.

If successful Zespri will look to produce more.

Feedback from the trial would be an important factor in whether it made the fruit more widely available, Mr Parkes said.

Red kiwifruit varieties were already grown in other parts of the world, mainly China.

  1. I have not seen that but is it bad for bodys is it the same as the green kiwifruit or rasberry flavour

  2. Just had a couple: it’s very sour when under-ripe, but super sweet when soft and ripe. I would buy again, but will make sure it’s soft and ripe.

  3. They are not good for your health but good for the infections you get like a rash or a scab you just rub this on then It will heal it more quickly And it will not infect you even more so try it out

  4. That’s sounds so cool. I want to try one. I wonder if it would taste different because of the colour
