Over time it is believed by scientists that, when bigger animals become extinct, rats will grow to fill their place and environment.

This means that rats could possibly grow to the size of cats or even sheep in the future.

Rats are well known to be good at adapting to survive so scientists believe in the future that rats will evolve to grow bigger and bigger.

Rats are expected to reach at least the same size as a Capybara, the world’s largest rodent which lives today.

When it says this. “Rats are expected to reach at least the same size as a Capybara, the world’s largest rodent which lives today.” DOES THAT MEAN THAT CAPYBARA WAS AS SMALL AS A RAT?

  2. I like cats but I don’t like rats. I wouldn’t like a rat as big as a cat – it would be creepy. Imagine if stick insects evolved to be huge, then they could battle the rats!
