Queensland has produced a thrilling second-half comeback to win the opening game of the 2020 State of Origin.

Queensland won the game 18-14.

The NSW Blues, who have won the last two series, started brightly and opened up a 10-0. This was done through tries from Damien Cook and Josh Addo-Carr.

Queensland hit back after the break as Alex Brimson, Xavier Coates and Cameron Munster scored.

NSW won back-to-back series for the first time since 2005 last year, and were the favourites going into the game.

The second game of the three-match series takes place on Wednesday, 11 November in Sydney.
