Hundreds of New Zealanders have been honoured in the 2018 Queen’s Birthday Honours List announced over the weekend.
From politicians to Actors, boardrooms to hospices, sports fields to amazing community workers the range of people that have made New Zealand better is astounding.
In the past, a couple of dominant figures have dominated the list. However, this year the focus seems to be on people working within communities and entertainers. Comedians The Topp Twins and John Rowles were honoured for there work in the entertainment industry.
The top honours go to five new dames and three knights.
Catherine Alice Healy – For services to the rights of street workers
The Honourable Luamanuvao Winifred Alexandra Laban  – For services to education and the Pacific community
Emeritus Professor Charmian Jocelyn O’Connor  – For services to education and chemistry
Julie Bethridge Topp – For services to entertainment
Lynda Bethridge Topp  – For services to entertainment
Hekenukumai Puhipi Busby – For services to Māori
The Right Honourable Simon William English – For services to the State
John Edward Rowles – For services to entertainment

  4. To the queen: I May not live in england but I still understand that you are a good person, You have been alive though wars and many other things (protests etc.) but you have stayed with england and I cant imagine how busy your life is but I would like to say thank you and happy birthday!
