Queen Elizabeth II has celebrated the 65th anniversary of her coronation in the UK.

The coronation took place at Westminster Abbey on June the 2nd 1953.

No official engagements are planned for the special day, but Her Majesty will appear at five official engagements over the next month.

Elizabeth was 25 when she took the throne in 1952, but the coronation didn’t happen until a year later because tradition held the festival shouldn’t take place while she mourned her father’s death.
