New photographs of the British royal family have been released to celebrate the Queen’s birthday and Royal Mail.

One of the stamp sheets features the four generations of the royal family, photographed by Ranald Mackechnie.

Posing for the camera are The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and an extremely charming Prince George.

The happy portrait was taken in the White Drawing Room of Buckingham Palace last summer.

Instead of being perched on someone’s lap, Prince George was allowed a little bit of freedom in posing alongside his dad, grandfather and great-grandmother.

The postage stamp release also marks the postal service’s 500th anniversary.
