One person restaurant opens in Sweden

The idea is simple: A single table, a single chair, out in the middle of a field. Instead of waiters, the food is delivered straight from the kitchen by basket attached to a rope.

It seems strange but this idea for a restaurant is now a reality in Sweden.

Bars, restaurants, and cafés in Sweden have continued to serve seated customers during COVID-19.

One restaurant, however, is taking the concept of social distancing to a whole new level. It will only serve one customer per day, seated in the middle of a field, via a basket attached to a rope.

The restaurant, named Bord för En, or Table for One, opened on May 10th, and will stay open until August 1.

Rasmus Persson and Linda Karlsson came up with the idea after having lunch with Karlsson’s parents.

During this lunch, Persson a former chef, made lunch and served it to his in-laws through a window to a nicely set table outside.

The idea was discussed over lunch and by that evening the couple had made the website for Bord för En.
