After rumoured sightings of the singer in Auckland on Monday it has been confirmed that Taylor Swift is in NZ. Unfortunately Taylor has gained the attention of more than just her loyal fans.
The pop star arrived secretly in the country on Monday only a few days ahead of her tour in Australia. However it wasn’t long before Taylor was spotted and sparked a wild goose chase across Auckland as fans tried to hunt her down.
It has now been confirmed that Taylor is in NZ shooting her new music video on Bethells Beach in Auckland. Unfortunately the singer’s use of the beach has sparked a lot of upset as it is believed to have put a rare native bird at risk.
Taylor’s film crew were given permission to bring 2 vehicles onto the beach for the video but 12 vehicles were reportedly used. The beach is home to rare baby dotterels and locals are upset that the rules were not followed and that the film crew disturbed the nesting chicks.
Although many are pointing their anger at Taylor, it is likely that the singer knew nothing about the birds or the conditions the film crew were asked to uphold. Don’t worry Taylor, we still love you!
