Two New Zealanders – singer Lorde and golfer Lydia Ko – have been included in Time magazine’s most influential teenagers of 2013.
Lorde, whose real name is Ella Yelich-O’Connor, made the number one spot out of 16 teenagers from around the world, followed by Ko who was in second place.
Seventeen-year-old Lorde hit international fame this year with the release of her first album, Pure Heroine.
The singer waqs signed by a record album at age 13 and then in September of this year surpassed Miley Cyrus for the top spot on iTunes with the hit song.
Meanwhile, 16-year-old golfer Ko has multiple LPGA wins. She has turned pro only this year.
She is currently the world’s 5th best womens golfer after just 23 tournaments and is the youngest person ever to win a professional golf tour event.
