New Zealand may get second internet cable

New Zealand maybe getting a new internet cable between Australia, New Zealand and the United States.
The government has earmarked $15 million towards getting a second international internet cable.
A new cable would be used specifically for research or education purposes.
The government will not be able to pay for the new cable itself so it is calling for education and research businesses to come on board.
