Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott has invited New Zealand to this year’s G20 meetings being hosted by Australia.
Abbott presented the invitation to Prime Minister John Key during talks in Sydney.
New Zealand is not a member of the G20, which represents the world’s leading developed and developing countries.
This basically means that the 2014 G20 Summit will be a group of 21.
”I want the G20 to be an opportunity to not just showcase Australia, but to showcase Australasia,” Abbott told reporters at a joint press conference with Key.
