Thousands of people have braved the rain to celebrate New Zealand winning the America’s cup.
Today Team NZ was honoured as people lined Auckland’s central city streets to cheer on Team NZ and see the Auld Mug.
Captain Peter Burling and CEO Grant Dalton showed off the trophy to the thousands that lined the streets.
Team New Zealand brought the Auld Mug home yesterday after 14 years away, thanks to a 7-1 win over Oracle Team USA in Bermuda on 27 June.
The Cup will travel to Wellington on Tuesday. Christchurch is in planning for Wednesday and Dunedin on Thursday of next week.
