Singapore Airlines has announced a new non-stop service between Singapore and New York. This flight will become the world’s longest.

The aircraft will travel a distance of approximately 16,700km, and will take about 18 hours and 45 minutes.

The arrival of the new Airbus A350-900 ultra-long-haul aircraft has made the flight possible.

The first flight will take off from Singapore’s Changi Airport on October 11, and arrive at Newark Liberty Airport nearly 19 hours later.

The airline also plans a non-stop Singapore to Los Angeles flight, with details likely to be released later this year.
