A healthcare worker who has returned back from Sierra Leone has tested negative for the Ebola Virus.
Concerns were raised regarding her health when she returned to New Zealand.
The nurse, who is originally from Gore, had been working as a part of the NZ team sent to help with the Overseas Ebola crisis that has claimed thousands of lives.
After arriving back into the country last Wednesday, she was immediately transferred by helicopter to a special unit in Christchurch Hospital, which caters for full isolation of patients.
Her blood tests were then sent to Melbourne where the results came back negative. The nurse appears to be in a stable condition, yet she will remain in the isolation unit until further tests are undertaken.
Did you know: Ebola is only contagious once a person starts showing symptoms.
