Space agency NASA is planning an unmanned mission to one of the moons orbiting the planet Jupiter.

A robot will travel to the icy surface of Europa as space experts think the planet could have the right conditions to offer a home to life.

Europa is not a big moon, only slightly smaller than the Earth’s moon.

Its surface is thought to be covered by a huge ocean of water, much of it frozen.

NASA announced the plan and a launch is expected in about 10 years.

Around  NZD$18 million has been set aside to fund the new project.

Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system and fifth from the Sun.

  1. I think that it is a good idea but it had flaws such as it is a distraction from driving because that the driver will be watching the dashboard instead of watching the road, or that the lights may change because of perdestrians.
