Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka has become the world’s highest-paid female athlete.

Osaka made NZ$ 61.42 million in the past 12 months for an earnings record.

The details was published by Forbes magazine last week.

The 22-year-old Asian is a two-time Grand Slam champion. She beat US rival, Serena Williams, by NZ$2.30 million.
