The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Najib Razak, has formally announced that flight MH370 was lost at sea.

Najib Razak said the latest data from a number of international search teams suggested “beyond reasonable doubt” that the plane had crashed into the southern Indian Ocean, off the coast of western Australia.

The plane has been missing for two weeks and as yet it is still not known what caused it to go missing.

A plane of this size going missing is incredibly rare.

Current facts point to the plane being lost off the coast of Perth.  This is miles away from where MH370 was supposed to travel having been scheduled to go from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia to Beijing in China.

  1. I am very sad for the people who have lost friends and family in this flight. I hope they find the wreckage.

  2. We think it is really interesting that the plane was so far off course. We wonder if it was an error with the plane, engine or the pilot? We hope that the plane’s black box is found so some of these questions can be answered.

  3. I think this is devastating news but what I think is worse is the way they have dealt with it. It’s one thing to be told your family member is dead but it is another to be told in a text message. This is a callous un-compassionate act showing the heartlessness of the those in charge of telling the families.

  4. So sad to hear about all those family members that died in the plane, they must be all so sad. And I hope they find that plane so they can get out the black box and see what happened.
