Being allowed to play computer games in school lessons – sounds too good to be true.
But more and more schools around the world are using Minecraft to help pupils to learn. Infact over 200 schools in the UK alone are using the game in to help their students.
Minecraft is set in a virtual world where players build with blocks of different materials.
At some of the school the game is played and then the students  write stories inspired by their experience.
Teachers using the game say it can help get kids who don’t like books to do more reading and writing.
Is your school using games, especially Minecraft, during lessons?

  2. My class used to use Minecraft for a learning tool, a group of the serious players who play at home always went on the same world and build what the teacher told us to. Then after that we would also write about it. Then the bad news came, it didn’t let us sign in!! NNOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

I hate mine craft more than i hate hackers and scam artists {no offense mine craft lovers} but its a game and you can probably visit online servers or what ever and find inappropriate people there. kinda nutty. ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊

  18. This would be an interesting tool for education. This could be useful for a lot of topics, but this is also a good way to get students into computer science. Minecraft may just be a game for some, but for others, it’s technically electronics (Talking about redstone). It also introduces kids to the opportunities of game development and programming/IT. I’m very much with this idea, and it would be nice to see schools adapting to what kids like to do.

  19. I think it would be fun to have mine craft in schools it would be goos for creativity I still however there would be a down side because people could easily crash the server and it would be hard to control the people on the server.

  22. I think this a really good idea, cause many kids like Minecraft and instead of using normal learning tools there is a game that does the same role. Fabulous!I have never used Minecraft before so I am keen to use it when my school starts using it, our school uses Chromebooks so a luckier chance.

  23. I think this is a great Idea, because loads of kids love Minecraft and instead of doing normal reading and writing, kids will love to use Minecraft! but on the other side what to they do on it? that is educational. I haven’t used Minecraft before.
