Meet the real Darth Vader.

More accurately meet Darthvader Williamson, a Tennessee man who works at Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett.

Darthvader, who’s been a surgical assistant and tech for 21 years and works with the hospital’s robots and technology, including its new state-of-the-art imaging system.

“When I was born, my mother wanted me to be named Junior, which was after my father, Anthony Lee Williamson,” he said. “But him being a Star Wars buff, he was so in love with the character Darth Vader, he was like, ‘This would be one bad name for our son.’

“Under the effects of anesthesia, [my mother] would’ve agreed to anything. She was like, ‘Yeah, OK fine.’ When she realised what she had done afterwards, she was like, ‘What’ve we done?!’

But he does have one dark secret: He’s not a huge Star Wars fan. He admitted that he hasn’t seen any of the newer movies, only the original three.
