A graphic design professor from America has knitted his way into the record books while running the Kansas City Marathon.
David Babcock finished last weeks marathon in 5 hours, 48 minutes and 27 seconds.
However, while he was running he also spent his time knitting and by the end of the run had knitted a scarf about 3.6 meters long.
The 3.6m new scarf was enough to get Babcock into the Guinness Book of Records, beating the last effort of 2m which was set at the London Marathon in April.
Babcock began running and knitting as separate activities about three years ago. He decided to combine them to keep things interesting.

We think knitting while running is a bad idea because when you are running a marathon it is very hard to stitch because you would be very puffed and the knitting would be all wonky. Also when your knitting you have to watch what you doing and you won’t see where the obstacles in front of you and you might die. You might even crash into people and they might get very very very very very angry and they might make a complaint about people knitting while running a marathon and you might get put in jail or arrested or… Read more »
Can you knit me one?! please lol
Like you can do better at least he made a scaf better than u could and problley already know the course
That he has to run and as if he would crash u couldn’t even do that so y bother auguring with people to make them angry
I think that knitting while running is a great idea because you wont see obsticles so then you will die. I think it will be hilarious if someone dies from this and I will probably never stop laughing.
If people complain about this I will get mad because people won’t die then I will have nothing to laugh about.
@Fletcher + Ethan great story
that is actually true
This is very interesting…. But won’t you trip if the scarf gets REAL long?
That is the longest comment i have ever seen, and I think the knitting is a kinda weird thing to spend all that time on!
