Malala nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

Pakistani schoolgirl,Malala Yousafzai, has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

The 15-year-old is nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, which each year is awarded to a person or organisation that’s seen to promote friendliness and peace.

Yousafzai, was shot by the Taliban after campaigning for improved girls’ education in her home country.  After she was shot she travelled to a hospital in the UK to recover.

The Nobel Prizes are given out each year and are considered one of the world’s top awards. Other areas that people can win Nobel Awards include medicine, physics, chemistry and literature.

This year a record 259 nominations were put forward and the winner of the prize will be announced in October.
