Lowry wins British Open

Irishman Shane Lowry has won the 2019 British Open.

Lowry was dominated all weekend and won by six strokes at Royal Portrush Golf Course.

The Irishman was fervently cheered on every shot by the sellout crowd.

Lowry finished at 15-under 269, while Englishman Tommy Fleetwood, shot 74 for second place.

New Zealand’s Ryan Fox recorded his best-ever finish at a major, he was tied for 16th, 13 shots behind Lowry.
