Over the past few weeks New Zealanders have been voting in their local elections. These elections decide who is going to be mayor of your town or region, and also members of your local council.
Many of your everyday activities are dependent on services provided by your local council. These range from water flowing freely from your tap, finding a car park so you can use the local library, using the parks, rubbish collection, to walking your dog in well lit streets at night.
Some towns or cities now have a new mayor, such as Christchurch and Rotorua. Some mayors were re-elected such as Len Brown in Auckland.
If you were elected as mayor of your town, what is one thing you would change or do?
