Lewis Clareburt finishes 7th in 400IM

Lewis Clareburt has finished in 7th place in the 400IM Final with a time of 4:11.22.

USA’s Chase Kalisz won the gold ahead of team-mate Jay Litherland, who claimed silver, with Australia’s Brendon Smith winning bronze.

Clareburt was in second place after 350m but fell off towards the end of the race as other swimmers came home fast. After the race he said he was “proud to be a Kiwi”.

Dspite the final result, Clareburt set a new New Zealand record for the 400IM with a time of 4:09.49 in his heat – Check out the video of this below.
