The new king of Spain, King Felipe VI, has been sworn into power in a simple ceremony in Madrid.

King Felipe VI  takes the place of his father, King Juan Carlos, who stood down last month after 39 years on the throne.

The new king said that he was looking forward to serving the people of Spain.

Because of the hardships faced by many people in Spain the ceremony was very simple.

The royal family in Spain have been criticised in recent years for their flash lifestyle. Some people have even been questioning if Spain needs a monarchy.

Everybody knows once someone receives power they turn crazy and evil.
Most kings have turned evil once in power. So just be careful! Power can be a very bad thing!
