King Charles is planning to visit New Zealand as part of his world tour.
The trip will be part of the biggest tour the royal family has ever completed. In all the tour will involve two years of international travel around a number of Commonwealth countries.
The aim of the tour is to “extending a hand of friendship and support” to all commonwealth countries.
The Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Catherine, are also understood to be a “major support role” as the royals start a new era after Queen Elizabeth’s passing.
The King is also expected to undertake a number of solo trips, both at home and overseas.
In the 1970s, the Queen completed 52 Commonwealth visits and 21 trips to other countries to mark her 25th jubilee. The new King could undertake just as many trips.
The King last visited New Zealand in 2019.
