A High Court judge has ruled that  ACT party leader John Banks must go to court to answer allegations about electoral finance.
In 2013 John Banks tried to become Auckland mayor. He was beaten by Len Brown.
While he was running his campaign Mr Banks accepted donations from internet businessman Kim Dotcom and casino operator Sky City.
Some people believe that he didn’t disclose, or let people know, that he had received money from these sources.
The court date will be sometime next year.
