James Shaw, a Geen Party leader, is in trouble after funding a school in Taranaki.

Shaw funded the Green School $11.7 million dollars for a new building project.

Shaw has since offered a series of apologies for backing the funding.

The issue is that the Green School is a private school and funding private school’s with taxpayer money is against Green Party policy.

Some people believe that Shaw should stand down as leader of the Green Party.

The funding would create 200 jobs and help the school expand its roll to 250 students. The increased roll is estimated to make an annual contribution of $43 million to the local economy.

  1. I think he should step down. He’s made a lot of mistakes and as a politician you can’t make many mistakes. I just don’t think he’s cut out for this kind of work any more.
