Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern arrived in the United States yesterday.

While there she is set to meet with members of Congress and the UN Secretary-General, and meet with executives of tech giants like Twitter and Microsoft. She is also attending a launch event for sustainable meat exports and delivering the Harvard Commencement speech.

However, a meeting with US President Joe Biden is still not confirmed, as he is currently in Japan and Ardern has only just recovered from Covid-19.

Ardern’s first event was a sit-down with major American tourism media. Ardern says the message of New Zealand is open for business and open for travel is really important at this time.

Ardern met with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. She said predominately the focus was on issues of climate sustainability and the war on Ukraine.

Ardern also appeared on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert today.
