Hundreds of thousands of people in northern India are trapped by floodwaters. However fresh rainfall has caused problem with attempted rescue missions.
Operations of the Indian Air Force have been suspended until the rain has subsided.

It is estimated that the damage in the Indian state of Kashmir is over eight hundred million dollars.
Both the Indian and Pakistani governments have been criticised for how they have dealt with the growing disaster.
