A family has been driven from their home in St. Louis by thousands of venomous Brown Recluse spiders.
Brian and Susan Trost bought the house in 2007 and soon began seeing the spiders everywhere as they fell from the ceiling and began ‘oozing from the wall.’
The spiders even paid Susan a visit in the shower, falling from the ceiling and washing down the drain as she dodged out of its way. Two pest control companies were called out to the house, but neither was able to solve the spider infestation.
Brian and Susan filed a lawsuit against the house’s previous owners, who did not make them aware of the spider problem when they bought the house.
Jamel Sandidge, considered one of the nation’s leading Brown Recluse researchers, estimated that there was between 4500 and 6000 spiders living in the home. However, he noted that he made this estimation in winter – which is when the spiders are least active!
Last week the problem was finally dealt with as the house was covered in 9 tarps and filled with gas to get rid of the spiders and their eggs.
