Taranaki sprinter Zoe Hobbs has broken her own New Zealand 100m record.

Hobbs secured the time when she claimed the national women’s 100m record at the McKinnon Shield meet at Mt Smart Stadium.

Hobbs crossed the line in 11.27 (+1.7), bettering her previous record of 11.32.

The record is unofficial until ratified, but is under the maximum tailwind of 2.0s.

Hobbs was not selected for the New Zealand team to the Tokyo Olympics despite making the original qualifying time.
