A hoard of gold worth almost $1 million NZD has been found hidden inside an old piano.

The discovery was made in Shropshire, UK, when its owners had it tuned and repaired.

Experts think the valuables might have been “deliberately hidden” in the instrument more than 100 years ago.

Investigations into who might have hidden the gold have revealed the upright piano was sold in 1906 to a music shop in Saffron Walden, Essex.

Its history is then unknown until 1983, when records show it was purchased by a family who later moved to Shropshire.

  1. I think this is a collection of gold from a old bank heist, or something along those lines. Who would leave $90 million + of gold hanging around in a piano of all places.
