The Hamilton 7’s competition for 2021 has been cancelled.
World Rugby made the announcement because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In March, World Rugby postponed all remaining tournaments in the 2020 series.
New Zealand Rugby General Manager Professional Rugby & Performance Chris Lendrum said it was disappointing, but a sensible decision under current circumstances.
The Hamilton and Sydney rounds of the World Rugby Sevens Series 2021 had been scheduled for 23-24 and 30-31 January 2021 respectively.
