Greg Novak, a farmer from Minnesota has attempted to bring locals out of their winter blues by building a 50 foot (15 metres high) snowman.

The snowman, named “Granddaddy”, began taking shape when Greg began moving snow piles away from his greenhouses.

Greg had help from friends and family who showed up to help build the snowman and help out with the farm work while Greg built Granddaddy.

Greg used skid loaders to pile snow and a silage blower to direct snow into stacked cylinders.

Greg said that those who make the trip to get a look at the giant snowman always smile and he believes that making people smile is the best feeling ever.
