Government announce vaccines for 12-15 year olds

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has announced the government has granted approval for 12-15-year-olds to be given a Covid-19 vacine.

Cabinet have agreed to make the Pfizer vaccine available after Medsafe gave it provisional approval.

Countries such as Canada, Japan, Europe and the US have also granted a similar approval.

From today, parents and caregivers will be able to book in 12-15-year-olds to receive their vaccinations.

There are an estimated 265,000 people in the 12-15-year-old age.
