China has announced that the Fornite game will be shut down later this month.

The video game, which is called Fortress Night China, will go offline completely from the 15 November.

Since Monday 1 November, new players have been unable to sign up to the game, two weeks ahead of its full shut down.

Fortnite has been available for Chinese gamers for over two years, however, the government has always said it was a test.

The Chinese government has strict control of the internet and it looks very different to the internet you and I use.

For example, the Chinese Fortnite, Fortress Night includes a number of changes from the original, including features that limit the time players spend on the game, as well as having no “microtransactions” to buy extra in-game items such as outfits with real money.
