Florida High School holds graduation on jet skis

A High School in Florida has completed their 2020 Graduation on jet skis.

Graduates from Somerset Island Prep in Florida, didn’t get to walk across a stage for their commencement ceremony, but they coasted on water instead.

On Tuesday evening, graduates from Somerset Island Prep in Florida, each rode a jet ski to pick up their diplomas.

Students were dressed in graduation caps, gowns and masks. When they arrived at the main boat their principal presented them with high school diplomas.

The strange graduation ceremony was due to COVID-19.

Prior to the ceremony, graduates took a free, three-hour jet ski training course provided by a local company that loaned the watercraft to the school.

High schools around the United States that have been forced to be innovative with ceremonies honoring graduates.
