Farmers donate land to New Zealand

A farming couple have donated 900 hectares of land to New Zealand.

Dick and Jillian Jardine own the Remarkables station in New Zealand. This is a prime piece of land close to Queenstown.

The land at the foot of the Remarkables range will become open to everyone in 2022, after being handed over to the Queen Elizabeth II National Trust for “the benefit and enjoyment of all New Zealanders”.

They have gifted to New Zealand raather than sell it to developer.

The told media it was ‘the right thing’ to hand the beautiful plot in Remarkables to the national trust for conservation

The family have owned and worked the land for 98 years, want to see it protected and loved for another century.
