Dunedin has been named as New Zealand’s most beautiful city.
The award was organised by Keep New Zealand Beautiful.
The judges praised Dunedin on its focus on heritage conservation as well as keeping the city clean.
Dunedin Mayor Dave Cull was excited by the award.
He said the jewel in its crown was Otago Peninsula, along with the Botanic Gardens.
Hutt City was the other finalist, while Taupō was declared the most beautiful large town, and Raglan the most beautiful small town.
