Drone surfing the new crazy this summer

Fancy something exciting this summer? How about the new crazy taking America by storm – drone surfing.

Washington-based company Freefly is that company the produces a drone capable of towing a skimboarder.

The company recently shot a video of its heavy-duty ALTA 8 octocopter towing a skimboarder across the water.

The drone is able to pull a person across the water at high speed, while the surfer does tricks and carves up the water.

The bad news is that current the drone costs around $40,000NZD.

However, we can still imagine the future of water sports will soon be here in New Zealand.  Watch the video below.
