Double win for NZ T20 teams against India

The men’s and women’s New Zealand cricket teams have beaten India in their respective T20 games.

The White Ferns were first up in Wellington, beating India by 23 runs.

Batting first the White Ferns were expertly guided by Suzie Bates who hit 62 off 48 deliveries. She saw the White Ferns through to 159/4 off their 20 overs.

In reply India go off to a flier and were 102/1 off only 11 overs. However, a superb 8 overs saw New Zealand rip through their batting order to bowl them all out for 136.

In the men’s game it was one way traffic for the New Zealand batsman as they smashed 219 runs. Tim Seifert was the main destroyer, scoring 84 of only 43 balls.

In reply, India was unable to keep up with the steep run rate, getting all out for 139. Tim Southee was the best kiwi bowler, taking 3 wickets.
