Fast-growing chickens are known as “Frankenchickens”.

These types of chickens are feed special food to make them grow faster. This means that it usually only takes 6 weeks to produce a fully grown chicken.

Dominoes said that they have listens to customer concerns about animal welfare. They have also urged other fast food companies to follow their lead.

Around 120 million chickens are raised for meat in New Zealand each year.
