Dear Editor.
Did you know that in Auckland’s Northwestern motorway there was major delays. This has happened since this morning. The New Zealand agency is asking drivers to avoid the motorway west of Lincoln road.
The traffic is restricted to one lane of the motorway at Lincoln road interchange and the vehicles are reversing past west gate. The transport agency’s said “We are advising all drivers to avoid this section of the motorway network.
It will take some time before the congestion is cleared.” According to the NZTA the congestion is due to necessary remedial work to repair a crack that has developed on a section of the motorway connected with the Lincoln road interchange upgrade.
Westbound traffic of the northwestern motorway is not affected. The Lincoln road on-ramp, royal road and Hobsonville on-ramps eastbound are now open as congestion eases.
